Introduction

This website is my final project for George Mason University’s HIST 390-003. This project was finished on December 16, 2013. Every photo in this project is covered under the policy of fair use because it is for educational purposes. There are good amount of photos that I took myself. This project is about the CSI Effect and how the show (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) has had an impact on history and television. Katherine Ramsland wrote a book about the CSI Effect (Figure 1) in 2006. I count this as my historical image #1. Historically, the subject of what this image portrays changed the way people wrote and discussed the CSI Effect. She covers a lot of issues which one could better a grasp of the difficult concept. Her book is mentioned here among other sources that will help someone get a broader sense of this phenomena.

This is a digital project focusing on the CSI Effect and the change that happened in the world from the advances of crime scene investigation and forensic evidence. The language has changed in the way we describe, explain and discuss different topics. In the 13 years that CSI: Crime Scene Investigation has been on, it has changed the world through the type of language we use and what we are looking for in crimes now.

Now, I will explain what the CSI Effect actually is and where it came from in my own words.
